Duct and Furnace Cleaning

Our trained technicians connect a state-of-the-art industrial power vacuum truck capable of moving thousands of cubic feet of air per minute to your duct and furnace system. We want to emphasize that we do not use low-power portable units of cheap duct cleaning "Kits" attached to carpet cleaning equipment.

First, we perform a thorough inspection of your duct system. Then we connect a powerful vacuum to the duct system. Next, we clean deep into each separate duct with the Roto-Whip snake brushless duct cleaning system. Another special tool called a Reverse Roto-Whip snake is used to clean the remaining dust and debris from the main ductwork. Finally, we clean, inspect and re-install the furnace fan and other internal furnace components and properly seal the access points that we used to perform a proper cleaning. We only use safety plugs and metal inspection covers, not just duct tape or dangerous sheet metal scraps. During every service, we also perform a comprehensive multi-point system check and lube service at no extra charge. Louis Canada Furnace Cleaning doesn't charge any more than companies that use smaller, cheaper cleaning units.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

There's a hidden Fire Hazard in almost every home... How to save your home., even your life... with a simple and inexpensive service visit ! There's a hidden danger spot in most homes today. Chances are you don't look at it or even think about it. It's the venting from your clothes dryer. Over time, it fills with lint that sneaks by your dryer's filter. Overheating comes next as the lint builds up. Now you're just a step away from a duct fire. *Sound far-fetched? Here are some sobering facts!

In 1996, the result was over 20 deaths, 500 injuries and over $1 00 million in property damage, according to the commission** *The CPSC reports that the most frequent starting point for these fires was the dryer vent area. The typical scenario is simple. The dryer overheats, the lint catches fire and the fire is then helped by combustibles in the immediate vicinity(these fires can smolder for hours going unnoticed until after you've gone to bed or left your house for an errand).

EXTRA BENEFITS as well. Removing this lint, for example, results in a dryer that runs cheaper, since it uses less energy to get your clothes dry. Drying times can even be shorter, getting you out of the laundry room faster. Finally, the dryer itself can last much longer since it's not stressed by the higher operating temperatures caused by the lint buildup.*The charge for this service is surprisingly reasonable, and it will pay for itself in lower service and utility costs!.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should you get your air ducts cleaned before you move in to your new house?

As your house is newly built, it’s not unusual that quite a lot of the construction debris like sawdust, asbestos, and concrete lumps would remain in the air ducts. Leaving them unclean would obstruct the airflow in the ducts and then cause more dusts. So
having your air ducts cleaned would also result in lowering your utility bill. As a matter of a fact, most new houses are located in a community that is under construction, which means its environment is much dustier. So it’s a good suggestion to have your new
house cleaned before you move in.

What type of equipment is used and what is the procedure to get the job done?

We use our truck mount vacuum machine and high pressure air blow gun to clean up the whole air conditioning system. We will first open some holes in the air ducts to hook up an 8-inch diameter hose to the air conditioning system and connect this hose to our powerful truck-mount vacuum machine.
When the vacuum machine is turned on, it generates huge negative pressure.
Contaminants in your air conditioning system would be extracted through the hose to the vacuum machine outside. At the meantime, we use a high pressure air gun (air pressure 200 pounds per square inch) combined with the roller brush to clean up the air vents and floor/ceiling registers one by one and help draw the contaminants to the vacuum machine. For the usually unreachable places inside of the air duct, we will use a special equipment to do the job. This so-called “octopus” (some people call that
spider) equipment is an air-blowing plastic whips mounted on the end of a very flexible long rod that can be inserted deeply into the air ducts. For the next step, we will open your furnace to clean up its inside including the air filters. We also spray the disinfection sanitizer (optional) into the air ducts that can eliminate the germs grown in there. After
we finish the job, we seal up the opened holes. At the end we collect 5-6 pounds of dust from your home that
also includes-
-Allergens and contaminants, even fungus and mould
-Pet hair
-Construction material that over the years may have created a cold spot or blockage of air flow
-Food that sometimes get in to the kitchen vents and can develop mould.

Why should I get my dryer vent cleaned?

For the safety and the good of your monthly utility bill for your house. Even though you can clean out the lint filter in your dryer each time after use, the lint can still gradually build up in the dryer’s vent. The vent will then get clogged. Your dryer needs to run a long time to dry your clothes and your utility bill will go up. More dangerously, lint is a highly inflammable material under high temperatures. The dryer might catch fire
damaging your property.

Will Duct & HVAC system cleaning reduce our home energy bills?

Research by the U.S. EPA has demonstrated that HVAC system cleaning may allow systems to run more efficiently by removing debris from sensitive mechanical components. Clean, efficient systems are less likely to break down, have a longer life span, and generally operate more effectively than dirty systems.

Are there any health benefits that come from Duct & HVAC system cleaning?

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems have been shown to act as a collection source for a variety of contaminants that have the potential to affect health, such as mould, fungi, bacteria, and very small particles of dust. The removal of such contaminants from the HVAC system and home should be considered as one component in an overall plan to improve indoor air quality.
